Meet Your Host Sue Humphrey

I’m an Olympic coach. I’ve served on 3 Olympic coaching staffs. I’m the only female coach to have NCAA champions in the High Jump, Long Jump, & Triple Jump.

I started as an age group coach in Phoenix. When Title IX was passed, I was asked to begin the women’s track & field program at Arizona State U. Within 3 years, they were ranked #4 in the USA. I’ve also coached collegiate programs at Cal State-Long Beach & The University of Texas. At Texas, the squads won 4 NCAA National titles in 5 years.

Since then, I’ve served USA Track & Field as the first High Performance National chair, National Women’s Track & Field Chair, & National Women’s Development Chair. I currently do private coaching in the Austin & Phoenix areas.
