Sue Humphrey is the founder of The Gold Medal Coaches Outdoor Summit. An accomplished track & field coach, Humphrey was the Head Coach for the 2004 USA Women's Olympic Track & Field team. She also was on the 1996 & 1992 USA Olympic staffs. She was named as the first winner of the Nike Coach of the Year and is currently very involved in coaches education and coaching jumps at high schools in Phoenix, AZ.

Her book, I Want To Run, is available on Amazon. It's an introduction to all the running events and advice on working with "off the track" topics like nutrition, academics, sleeping, and other areas vital to young student-athletes.

9-time USA Champion Kara Winger shares with us how to get young throwers interested in the javelin. She takes us through the steps of how to teach this event to young throwers.

Kara set the javelin world on fire during her 2022 season. She announced her retirement and went out to set the American Record & win Silver at the 2022 World Championships on her last throw. A 4-time Olympian, Winger was chosen by Team USA to carry the USA flag in the 2021 Olympics Closing Ceremonies. She was ranked #1 in the World in 2022 and graduated from Purdue U.

Larry Judge

Coach Judge has a fantastic record with throwers who performed well in the collegiate & international ranks. He feels the foundation for all throws center around the basic technical models.

Coach Larry Judge is one of the best teachers of the throwing events in the world. Athletes he's coached from Olympians, ParaOlympians, & collegiate levels have been successful due their mastery of the basics.

He's had 12 Olympians/ParaOlympians, 10 NCAA Champions & over 100 All-Americans. A lead professor at Ball State University & Chair of the Social Work Department, Dr. Judge has taken his scientific knowledge & applied it to teach and coach the various events. He's coached collegiately at Indiana State U, U of South Carolina, U of Wyoming, & U of Florida. He has been the National Chairman for USATF Coaches Education and teaches throws at all levels.

One of the top distance coaches in the country, Coach Scott Christensen has retired from over 30 years of high school teaching in Minnesota, However, he's continuing to train & teach emerging distance talents. Christensen led his teams to 13 state team titles & 27 individual Minnesota state champs. He's very active in USATF coaches education and instructs courses all over the USA. Over his career, he coached 4 high school boys who broke the 4 minute mile standard.

Randy Huntington

Coach to two World Record Holder jumpers (LJ & TJ), Randy Huntington is one of the top coaches in the world. His concepts on how to execute the approach and the last few steps have led jumpers to Gold Medals.

Considered one of the best jump coaches in the world, Coach Randy Huntington has trained current World Long Jump Recordholder, Mike Powell, and former Triple Jump World Record Holder, Willie Banks. He started his coaching career at the U of Oregon, U of California-Berkley, worked in the sporting goods industry w/ Kaiser Sports before taking his talents to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. From there, he went to South Korea and China to coach their National teams. In China, he coached the World LJ Champion at the 2022. He also coached the Chinese sprint crew led by Su Bingtian.
